 Summary:

The Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event has finally begun! The Tokyo team devises a plan to use Yuji to distract Aoi Todo, but little do they know that the entire Kyoto team is targeting Yuji! With all the odds stacked against him, Yuji finds an unlikely new best friend.

Plot:

As the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event prepares to begin, Gojo speaks over the loudspeaker. He suddenly hands it over to Utahime, who is not ready to speak. She hesitantly gives some advice to the students before Gojo interrupts her to start the action. Both teams run straight into a wooded area. Yuji asks where the Grade 2 curse could be, and Panda suggests that it's probably moving around. Maki reminds Yuji of their group's plan as they follow Megumi's Divine Dogs into a Grade 3 Weak Curse. They prepare for the exorcism when Aoi Todo suddenly shows up to face the entire team alone.

Yuji acts quickly and smashes Aoi's face with a flying knee. Megumi and Maki head in one direction, while Nobara, Toge, and Panda head in another. Yuji planned to hold Aoi alone using his power. All he has to do is buy time, but if Yuji is going to fight, he plans to win. Aoi quickly recovers from the initial attack and responds with a powerful strike. He splits a level 3 curse, sending Yuji flying through several trees on impact. Before Yuji can get his bearings, Aoi stomps on his face until he appears to pass out.

Aoi is about to move on, but is surprised when Yuji returns. Annoyed, Yuji yells at Aoi that he may have made him dumber. Kyoto third year replies Takada-chan likes stupid boys so it's okay. Yuji claims that he doesn't follow idols and Aoi decides to ask what kind of girls he likes. Aoi is shocked when Yuji reveals that he likes tall girls with big butts, just like him. This triggers a flashback where in the past Yuji helped Aoi get over Takada-chan's rejection.

Despite this memory never happening, Aoi believes it to be real. He and Yuji are best friends and no one in their hometown could beat them. Yuji watches in confusion as Aoi sheds sudden tears, but their moment is cut short when the rest of Team Kyoto ambushes Yuji. The lone freshman manages to dodge Maia's bullets and Kasumi's sword before being surrounded. He quickly realizes that the Kyoto Team is actually trying to kill him.

Annoyed by his peers' interference, Aoi claps his hands, activating his technique. This will change the locations of everyone in the area and spare Yuji. Aoi confronts Noritoshi and demands that he leave immediately. Noritoshi reluctantly agrees on the condition that Aoi kill Yuji and leave with the other 3 students. Aoi merely states that she won't hold back, not even with her best friend. Meanwhile, Momo watches from above and provides information to her team. Megumi's Nue appears behind the girl and uses her electroshock wings to knock her out of the sky.

Noritoshi immediately notices this and asks Mai and Mechamaru to secure Momo. As they separate, Noritoshi and Kasumi are attacked by Megumi and Maki. Megumi's tonfa collides with Noritoshi's wooden bow and he asks if the Kyoto team is trying to kill Yuji. Both Panda and Megumi notice the Kyoto team moving around the area where Yuji is and assume they are trying to kill him. The two units immediately turned to save Yuji while Toge continued to search for the curse.

As Momo recovers from her paralysis lying in a tree, Panda and Nobara arrive to taunt her from the ground. At the same time, Noritoshi denies that he had a reason to kill Yuji, but Megumi believes that the Great Three Wizard Families have plenty of motives to kill Sukun's vessel. Aoi and Yuji fight and begin trading blows on equal terms. Aoi is even impressed by Yuji's skill, toughness, and clever ability to use the environment to his advantage. However, he senses that Yuji's Divergent Fist is wrong. He shouts out that it's wrong, so loud that everyone else on the battlefield can hear it.

Maki notices Aoi's screams and realizes that this is why Yuji is still alive. Kasumi apologizes for her class's actions, explaining that she is fighting to be noticed by higher-level wizards in this event. Higher-ranked wizards can recommend lower-ranked wizards for promotion. Kasumi wants to be explored so she can raise her rank and earn more money for her poor family.

Aoi asks Yuji if he doesn't mind being weak and relying on Divergent Fist. At first, Yuji doesn't care about being Aoi's best friend, but refuses to stay weak. Intrigued, Aoi tells her best friend that this is the correct answer.

Juju Stroll

Female characters are asked "What is your type of person?" Maki says it's someone stronger than her, Mai refuses to answer, Nobara can't stand UBSSD (Useless, Broken, Stinky, Stingy, Dead), Momo names Sebastian Stan, Kasumi describes a hot guy who's fun to be with and does she feels that he is the only one for her. Meanwhile, Gojo remembers a girl with bangs who looked nice, and Utahime deduces that it is Kasumi through a process of elimination.
